Do you find that it's important to be friends before you fuck? Do you want a relationship? Friends with benefits?
Do you have any concerns about attachments? I have some close friends that I love. If I started having sex with them, I think my marriage might be at risk. When i see the profiles where they say that they want to have friendships I wonder if they've thought of the possiblility of falling in love.

Holiday Destinations

We recently returned from a week's vacation in Las Vegas and Yuma, Arizona. Before we left we put a post on one of their local groups and also messaged seven couples in the area, wondering if anyone would like to get together for a drink while we were in town. We got two replies. Both of those couples were planning to be out of town that weekend. We're a fun couple who actually fuck so we usually make friends easily. If someone like us was coming to the city and messaged us personally (I admit that a post on a group site may not be all that successful--we too ignore those posts from people who say they're going to be in town--anyone interested?) we would at least reply. We wondered if people who live in resort communities are just bombarded with messages from we cold-climate-dwellers and just don't want to be tour guide again. Any thoughts? It would be great to hear from some Southern people if any are looking in at this blog.
We have had pretty good success with contacting people in western cities here in Canada (after weeding out the posers, of course). That method of contact has worked before and we've met some other fun couples who also actually fuck.
Has anyone had any luck contacting people at destinations?

I recently read that Finland is going to issue three stamps commemerating the work of Tom of Finland. He's dead now but he was a well-known artist whose erotic art was world-renowned. My gosh! I was shocked to read that plastic surgeons do hundreds of surgeries a year to trim off women's labia because they feel they are unattractive. I'm pretty sure this is elective surgery performed at no small cost to the patient. How terrible for the woman who feels that her pussy lips are too loose or long or flappy! What kind of an insensitive partner would remark on such other thing, other than to praise their beauty and marvel at his/her great good fortune to be able to admire them at close range?
We should surround ourselves with people who affirm and enrich our lives and reject anyone who fails us in that regard, no matter what gender we are or what our unique gifts may be. Life is short. Don't waste any of your valuable time with unpleasant people.

The Female Condom

I searched high and low in Saskatoon and was not able to find any female condoms. I finally found some online. They were about $35 for six (I think that cost included shipping) and took about a week to arrive.
Other people may have a different opinion but I have yet to find any man who wouldn't rather NOT wear a condom. I remember one man saying to me "Well, I guess wearing a condom is almost like having sex." They just don't get a warm reception. My ex-husband always found them too tight and was never able to experience an orgasm with one on. Since we were experimenting with them as a method of contraception, they were doubly effective. My husband now will wear one but he finds them to be quite desensitizing. But I digress.
I presented my stash of female condoms to a group of close friends one evening when the use of a condom might be appropriate. No one would have anything to do with those either. I'm sure I could have insisted but that's not what these kind of encounters are about--we had conventional condoms that are employed so we weren't without options. Why make a scene?
I find it quite interesting that a female condom is way more expensive than a male one and so poorly accepted. After all, we women are frequently at the most risk. The protection of our health is still our biggest responsiblity. It's too bad the health researchers and looking for ways to make that easier.
On a totally different topic, I run at the Shaw Centre when it's too cold to run outside. Mostly I just come home and have a shower but yesterday I needed to go do some other things after so I took a shower there. Big mistake! I do not ever, ever recommend the women's shower room at the Shaw Centre. The design is so bad that you have no where to put your bag or towel while you shower. There are individual shower stalls but they have no place to put your soap and shampoo or have your towel anywhere nearby. The lockers are so far away and unattended so you couldn't leave your bag in your locker so you have to keep all your stuff with you. In the winter that also means a coat and boots. It's a terribly layout. But worse than that was the cold shower! The water never did get hot. It's a pool building for heaven's sake! It's half full of hot water! But none for the showers. I won't be showering there again. My husband just commented "You're pissed off about that." He's right.

I just finished reading an article in Macleans magazine about a group of young people (mostly men) who are refraining from watching porn and have stopped masturbating. They claim that it has improved their lives by elevating their self-esteem and career focus and has also changed how they view women. They feel that porn has created an unrealistic attitude about sex and that normal people can never meet that standard.
I'm 100% behind anything that will improve the respect that people have for themselves and for others and make people feel more in control of their lives. That can only be a good thing. I confess I don't watch much porn but I find it hard to believe that it can be much different from what my friends and I are doing in a group situation, though the bodies may be more conventionally attractive. I have two questions:
Is porn really all that unrealistic? And with the right people, aren't we all porn stars?
